JEE Advanced is one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams in India. It is the second phase of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), IISc, and a few other top institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be among the top 2.5 lakh rankers in JEE Main.
Should have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in the current or previous year.
Maximum of two attempts in two consecutive years.
Age limit: General candidates should be born on or after Oct 1, 2000 (age relaxation for reserved categories).
Exam Pattern
Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Papers: Two (Paper 1 & Paper 2, both mandatory)
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
Duration: 3 hours for each paper
Question Types: MCQs, Numerical-based, and Paragraph-type
Marking Scheme: Varies each year; negative marking applicable

Counseling & Admission Process
Admissions to IITs are conducted through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). You must register, fill your preferences, and attend counseling rounds based on your AIR (All India Rank).
